Driving Hwy 441 to Newfound Gap and Clingmans Dome
The drive along Highway 441 to the peak of the Smoky Mountains at Newfound Gap and Clingmans Dome is a spectacular drive in the Fall. The foliage is vibrant reds, yellows, oranges and greens. A must see in the Fall. The month of October is generally the best time for viewing at lower elevations but early October is best from atop Clingmans Dome due to the elevation of 6,000ft.
